Frequently Asked Questions
The full flow, from signing up to a published, indexed article — in plain language.
Trial & getting started
What do I get with the free trial?
7 days, or 2 articles — whichever comes first. No credit card required to start. Article generation, fact-checking, publishing, and everything else in the core workflow work exactly like a paid account, so what you see in the trial is the real product, not a stripped-down demo. The two things the trial doesn't include are rank tracking and indexing (Google Indexing API / IndexNow) — those turn on once you're on a paid plan, to keep the trial's real cost near-zero.
What happens when the trial ends?
You'll be prompted to pick a plan. Nothing is charged automatically — there's no card on file to charge in the first place.
Is there a free trial for this SEO tool?
Yes — 7 days, or 2 articles, whichever comes first, with no credit card required to start.
Connecting WordPress
Should I connect with my Administrator account?
You can, and everything works correctly either way — but we recommend creating a dedicated Editor-level account instead. AutoRankEngine only ever needs to publish and manage posts and media, which an Editor role already covers in full.
The reason to bother: a smaller blast radius if those credentials were ever to leak. An Editor account can't install plugins, create new admin users, or change site settings — an Administrator account can. Connecting with the more limited role costs you nothing functionally and caps the real-world damage of a worst-case credential leak.
Keyword research
Where do keyword ideas come from?
Seed keywords are starting ideas drafted from your own site's real content and niche — not generic, one-size-fits-all suggestions. Once you approve a seed, it's expanded into 5 candidate keywords, each scored with real search volume and difficulty data (via DataForSEO). The system highlights its recommended pick based on that scoring, but you can choose any of the 5 — the recommendation is a suggestion, not a requirement.
What happens when I run low on keywords?
The pool automatically refills with new AI-drafted, DataForSEO-scored suggestions once it's running low, so you're never left waiting on a manual step. Every refill suggestion is shown to you for review first — nothing is ever added to your active keyword pool silently. You decide what actually gets used.
Writing & fact-checking
How thorough is the fact-checking?
Every article is checked by two independent AI models, not one. If both agree a claim looks right, it passes quietly. If they disagree on something, that claim is flagged for your review instead of either model silently overriding the other — you always see both opinions, not just a merged, hidden-away verdict.
What if the AI-generated featured image doesn't come out right?
If AI image generation fails for any reason, the article automatically falls back to a real stock photo instead. An article never publishes without a featured image — one way or the other, it has one.
Does AutoRankEngine watermark AI-generated content?
No — AutoRankEngine doesn't add any watermark to generated content. You review and approve every article before it publishes, and you're responsible for how you represent AI involvement to your own readers, consistent with your site's own policies.
Publishing & categories
Does AutoRankEngine create new WordPress categories for my articles?
No. For each article, the AI picks the single best-fit category from your site's own existing WordPress categories — it never invents or auto-creates a new one. That pick is shown pre-selected when you review the article, and you can change it to any other existing category before publishing.
Do I have to review every article before it goes live?
By default, yes — auto-publish is off for every new site. Articles wait in your review queue for manual approval. If you'd rather skip that step, auto-publish can be turned on per site in Site Settings, and articles will go live automatically as soon as they're generated.
Which SEO plugins are supported, and how does that get set up?
Five: Yoast SEO, Rank Math, All in One SEO, SEOPress, and The SEO Framework. Set your site's plugin once in Site Settings and every article automatically fills in the correct meta fields for that plugin — no per-article setup. If you ever need to publish a single article for a different plugin than your site default, there's a per-publish override for that too.
Indexing
Does AutoRankEngine guarantee my articles get indexed by Google?
No — we won't oversell what a submission actually guarantees.
Every published article is submitted to the Google Indexing API, but that API is officially scoped by Google to job-posting and livestream/event content, not ordinary blog articles — so a submission for a blog post is genuinely best-effort, not a guarantee of anything.
Articles are also submitted to IndexNow, which is submission-only by design: it notifies search engines that a URL exists and changed, but it doesn't control or guarantee whether or when they actually crawl and index it.
Both submissions happen automatically on every publish — neither is something we can promise the outcome of.
Rank tracking
Does rank tracking cover my whole site, or just what AutoRankEngine publishes?
Just what AutoRankEngine generates and publishes for you — not your site's pre-existing content. If you had articles up before connecting AutoRankEngine, or you publish something outside the tool, those aren't tracked. We'd rather be exact about that scope than let you assume broader coverage than what's actually there.
Billing
Who processes payments, and what's your refund policy?
All payments are handled by our licensed third-party payment processor, which acts as our Merchant of Record — AutoRankEngine never sees or stores your card details directly. Your first purchase is covered by a 15-day money-back guarantee: not satisfied for any reason, request a full refund within 15 days and we'll process it.
What happens if I cancel?
Cancel any time from your Billing page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep full access until then, and you're not charged again after that. No losing access the moment you click cancel.
